This article is a summary of CivGeneral's involvement in DRAW Your Own Story 11.

Hackergeddon

At the onset of Hackergeddon, CivGeneral and Samus Aran were summoned to downtown New Port City,[1] surfacing in the aftermath of the One Hour War to pick up the pieces and track down Pul Wat Aa.[2] Bumming a ride with Ellis back to the city, they nearly ran down Lucifer,[3] bringing him along and explaining the situation.[4] Upon arriving at a science station, they proceeded to engage attacking Deathclaws and completely ignore Lucifer,[5] who stole Ellis's ride.[6]

After securing the facility, Samus and CivGeneral were briefed by captured Space Nazi scientist Adolf Zimmer about Mother Brain 2.0, a military AI he suspected was being used to facilitate the hackings. Zimmer provided a self-destruct code and Major Kusanagi tasked them to destroy it. At that moment, the Hacker delivered a public address, demonstrating his powers by turning the Moon purple.[7] Before heading to Zebes, they were contacted by Zheng He who proposed a joint effort to defeat the Hacker.[8] Entering the catacombs, they battled through hordes of Nazi zombies and other riff-raff with help from escaped Space Pirate slave Roxane Rose.[9][10] Mother Brain was destroyed, but on return to the surface CG discovered the Space Pirates had shot down their transport.[11] On Samus's advice they boarded a landed cruiser to steal a ship, but were forced to flee into underground Chozo ruins. CG accidentally triggered a martial trial, claiming a suit of Chozo power armour at the end.[12] Returning to the ship, he hacked Pirate communications, re-routing an invasion fleet destined for Pandora to Nar Kreeta in preparation for an ambush. After overloading the reactor, Samus, CG and Roxane fled into space. During his report to Kusanagi, he learned of Lucifer's ultimate plan and authorized mobilizing the Brotherhood of Steel.[13]

Nar Kreeta invasion and Jill's return

Samus and CivGeneral travelled to Nar Kreeta, where Marsha Conrad had been tasked with overseeing the long-delayed dismantling of the portal device. At the pleading of Combine staff, he agreed to transport the Advisors back to their home dimension before the equipment destabilized and self-destructed. Soon after, he was contacted by Pul Wat Aa, who announced he was preparing to invade the planet.[14] Aa arrived with an advance guard, supposedly hacking Samus into the Unexisted Dimension to break CivGeneral's resolve before the main attack. However, after the Hacker left, CivGeneral rescued Jill Valentine, inexplicably locked in a compactor room.[15] Returning to the surface, he learned the Hacker had planted a bomb to level the facility while Pirate troops pinned down the surviving Coruscantis. Immediately promoting Jill to Brotherhood Sentinel, he led the defence as engineers repaired the last remaining transport ship.[16]

Evacuating into orbit, the group made contact with the Comet Observatory, which had joined the space battle. Declaring he was ready to make peace with Stylesrj, CivGeneral proposed using a decoy station to lure Commander Laes' fleet into a trap. During the meeting CG was "reminded" that Jill had been a high-school girlfriend, and both Ellis and Coach encouraged them to hook up.[17]

After skirmishes with remaining Space Pirate forces,[18][19] CivGeneral regrouped to prepare for Laes' arrival. While Stylesrj kept the main attack focused on the Observatory,[20] the Coruscantis attempted a flanking manoeuvre, only to withdraw after sustaining heavy damage in the first wave. Responding to a distress signal, CG rescued Rebecca Chambers, who had been assigned to his crew as a medic.[21] A subsequent raid on one of Laes' ships uncovered the Toolgun, a portable hacking device captured from the Space Pirates.[22]

During the battle's final stages, Jill formally proposed to CivGeneral, and immediately after Laes' defeat they were wedded onboard the Comet Observatory. He was subsequently awarded the Imperial Medal of Honor for his actions during the battle.[23]

Jill versus Samus

Soon after the ceremony, Kusanagi recalled CG to New Port to deal with a break-in at the Citadel. He and Jill were immediately set upon by Sylux, but managed to escape.[24] Arriving at the Citadel, they encountered Edward Richtofen raiding the biological containment cell; after battling the escaped Tyrant prototype they attempted to intercept him on the building's roof, only to be ambushed by Pul Wat Aa. The Hacker revealed he had recovered Samus from the G-man's Realm and threatened to kill everyone unless Jill fought her in a public spectacle, with the loser permanently divorcing CG.[25] Jill ultimately prevailed and Samus was spirited away, although CG persuaded the G-man to free Alyx Vance, interned since the end of DYOS X.[26]

Wesker's vendetta

During the competition, Richtofen broke quarantine of zombified city sectors and CG and Co. entered the sewers to restore control.[27][28] After closing the checkpoint gates they caught up with Richtofen, only to be ambushed by Sylux and Albert Wesker. While the ladies fought Sylux, CG and Gordon Freeman tried to duel Wesker, receiving surprise aid from Ayane, whom he immediately inducted into the Brotherhood. The group reconvened and cornered Wesker, only to be taken down by Sylux, and in the confusion Wesker injected CivGeneral with a biological counter-agent to neutralize the Metroid-Chozo DNA, declaring him "ultimately free from Samus". When Faye began resisting the mind control, Wesker fled;[29] The group ultimately overpowered Faye and destroyed the OS-tan, disabling the brainwashing; she revealed that Roxane Rose was subject to a similar device and acting as a Space Pirate sleeper assassin. Rebecca discovered Wesker's syringe had been laced with the T-virus,[30] and the group tracked down a local virologist to create an antidote using Jill's blood to develop a vaccine.[31] Returning to the surface they encountered Wesker who, after confirming Rose was compromised, fled.[32] Returning to Brotherhood headquarters, they were briefed by Kusanagi that the Umbrella Corporation had invaded outlying planets to develop robotification technology for Pul Wat Aa. Despite the previous warnings, both CG and Kusanagi went to debrief Rose for further information, triggering her brainwashing; unable to safely remove the device conditioning her, they killed her.[33]

Intervention in Hyrule

Now wise to Wesker's plans, CivGeneral mobilized the Brotherhood to liberate Umbrella-occupied worlds.[34] He personally commanded an expedition to Hyrule to return Princess Zelda, who had been residing in New Port since her abduction by the Space Pirates circa the Manzen Temple Skirmish.[35] The convoy was attacked by Link, but after convincing him they were on the Hyrulians' side, CG and Co. rallied with local resistance to organize an uprising.[36]

After initial success against an Umbrella garrison, the rebels were overwhelmed by armoured reinforcements and CivGeneral and most of the unit were taken prisoner at Colonel Maxium's headquarters. CG, Jill, Link, Marsha and Spongebob were detained with Umbrella captive-cum-bioweapon Kaede;[37] Maxium expected her to kill them, but at the advice of Dr. Lynchstein, CG refrained from brute force and managed to win her to their side.[38] After rallying with a rescue team led by Ayane, they prepared to confront Maxium, but the Hacker subverted CG's CODEC, consolidating his jealous impulses into the avatar ReichsGeneral in a bid to break his resolve.[39] Hacking her way in, Kaede interrupted,[40] and with her and Marsha's help CG defeated and deleted the avatar.[41]

Reconvening in the dining hall, the group executed Maxium, but not before he activated the Nemesis prototype. CG promoted Kaede to Brotherhood paladin; while Lynchstein prepared to destroy the base,[42] Our Heroes fought their way out of the base, rescuing Tali'Zorah in the process.[43][44] Leaving Hyrule, the group encountered a Talon Company space station; at Marsha's insistence they boarded the station expecting a fight, encountering Stylesrj and the Comet Observatory crew.[45][46] After learning Talon's activities during the Troubles were essentially the actions of a rogue element, CivGeneral negotiated a reciprocal pardon before assisting Stylesrj in the revival of Tama Shepard.[47] After a series of personal grandstandings and an inconclusive fight with Kaede, [48] it was decided to leave Tama in Stylesrj's custody as she would be too much of a burden to anyone else.[49]

Battle of London and the Time Travel arc

After receiving Claire Redfield as Kusanagi's liaison, CivGeneral and Co. returned to Earth aboard the rechristened Nana. En route, Ayane began training him and Jill in martial arts. The group learned that Pul Wat Aa had split from Wesker, and that Phillip Grimsby had staged a coup to turn the Free Western Army to the Hacker.[49] With the enemy kingpins at war with themselves, CG opted to lead an incursion into London before Grimsby could consolidate his position.[50] During insertion, the squad was shot down and SpongeBob was killed by Grimsby;[51] CivGeneral held an impromptu funeral shortly before the area was overrun by ghouls.[52] En route to Whitehall, CG and Co. encountered the Umbrella assassin HUNK, tasked with killing the Hacker and anyone that got in the way; CivGeneral engaged him in mêlée combat but stopped short of killing him. HUNK agreed to a truce until Pul Was Aa was defeated, but vowed a rematch.[53]

Further into the city they were ambushed by a robot avatar controlled by the Hacker in a failed bid to kill Jill. The robot was swiftly overpowered, but Aa gave CivGeneral the collected DYOS 10 saga with the cryptic suggestion that if he knew his future, he would never have become the hero he was. Concerned for Lucifer's master plan, CivGeneral and Aa conceded to a truce.[54] Soon afterward, Richtofen accosted the group with a customized hack gun, stealing the book and time-travelling back to 2003 to trigger a butterfly effect in which CivGeneral retired from the army and CurtSibling conquered the world.[55] Using a modded DMC-12, CivGeneral and Ayane travelled back to 2003 to intercept Richtofen and repair the timeline.[56] As they prepared to corner him, they were intercepted by the Dubinater, who revealed Thorvald of Lym killed Wesker in the new timeline. By the time they escaped, Richtofen had delivered the book to CivGeneral's apartment; Ayane distracted CG's past self while he stole back the book, but they were spotted by Richtofen as they fled the scene.[57]

As they debated how to dispose of the book, Ayane interrogated CG about his insecurities and pessimistic past self. They met Martha Shepard, who had also travelled back in time. Before they could act, they were accosted by Richtofen and the Dubinater; Richtofen stole back the book in the confusion, but CG planned to intercept him at the airport.[58] Detouring to a demolition site to pick up explosives, CG crafted lightsabers for himself and Ayane; passing through a traffic jam they found Martha in combat with Rosalina Sunburst and threw her a katana to help level the fight. They arrived at the airport ahead of Richtofen but were nearly spotted by Kusanagi a year before her original introduction; Ayane provided cover by making out with him, claiming Jill had permitted an open relationship.[59][54]

They were joined by Martha shortly before Richtofen arrived. Using personal cloaking devices, they stole the book at the security gate, but the stealth field didn't extend to it and Richtofen gave pursuit. A fight ensued on the airport tarmac; sabotaging the hack gun, they sent him back to 2011 right before a bomb detonated, trapping him in the present, only to re-encounter the Dubinater.[60] While Ayane and CG distracted him, Martha invoked Kelemvor's power to utterly destroy the book.[61]

With the timeline restored, the group celebrated by going to CivGeneral's prom night. Soon after CivGeneral and Ayane confessed their love for each other,[62] they were met by their (future) daughter Nozomi, who had accidentally stranded herself in 2003.[63] She revealed that Jill had divorced him, and when she spoke to Coach that same night he completely counteracted the advice he'd given Jill on Nar Kreeta. Ayane subsequently found a note in which Jill expressed second thoughts, claiming the marriage was "a bit rushed" and that they needed a divorce.[64] CivGeneral helped repair the DeLorean, and Nozomi returned to her timeline.[65]

...Only to return almost immediately after being taken hostage by an elderly Dr. Richtofen, who had acquired a new copy of the DYOS 10 saga in a bid to salvage the original mission.[66] Learning Richtofen intended to force Marsha to repair the time machine, CivGeneral and Co. travelled to New Port University to prepare an ambush.[67] Nozomi slew Richtofen, and after a second repair the family returned to their correct timelines.[68]

Bad 2011

In the new timeline, CivGeneral was imprisoned in Spamingrad after Coruscant's defeat, while almost everyone he ever knew was killed or incarcerated.[69] Shortly after Ayane's detention, several prisoners launched a jailbreak and she, CG, Jill Valentine and Father Grigori escaped into the woods.[70] Raiding one of Curt's outposts, he discovered turncoat Francis Durga and murdered him after learning Durga had overseen the annihilation of Republic Island.[71] The escapees reconvened at Vault 44, the last Coruscanti hideout, where CivGeneral discovered Marsha was alive and the vault's administrator.[72] While Jill was sequestered for therapy, Ayane and CG joined Colonel Chase in planning and executing the New London Uprising.[73]

Twilight of Umbrella

Returning to London and in contempt of the very circumstances that had led them to hook up, Ayane made CivGeneral pledge exclusive loyalty to her.[74] While the FWA assaulted Grimsby's hideout, CivGeneral led an attack on Umbrella headquarters at the Tower of London.[75] Following New British surrender, Jill admitted she'd filed for divorce. They received a distress call from the Nana, revealing it had been boarded by Umbrella and that Wesker's flagship was in orbit over Earth.[76] Returning to the Nana, CivGeneral discovered Mara Jade revived by Umbrella science. She attempted to sway him back to her side but was rebuffed; a lightsaber duel ensued between Mara, CG and Ayane while the crew slaughtered the Umbrella troops. Mara was ultimately overpowered, forced into a shuttle and ejected from the hangar bay.[77]

CG and Co. immediately launched a counter-action, storming Wesker's Hammer. Ayane and CG confronted Wesker on the bridge, where he revealed his final bid to break CivGeneral by forcing him to deploy a robotification beam on Oslo, capital city of the Eastern Union.[78] Just as he pressed the button, however, the power cut out. A fight ensued, during which Ayane overdosed Wesker with his own super-serum, nullifying his powers; neutralizing him, the party evacuated after sabotaging the ship to self-destruct.[79][80] CG and Ayane celebrated by sleeping together on the journey back, and after returning to New Port Ayane formally proposed. The moment was interrupted by a Gnome attack,[81] soon followed by a raid on Brotherhood headquarters.[82] CivGeneral was reunited with his mother when she led an assault to break the siege alongside Alyx, Gordon, Samus and Kasumi.[83]

Following the Gnomes' retreat, CivGeneral was briefed on Liberty Prime, a combat robot outfitted with an anti-hacking shield.[84] During a demonstration, Pul Wat Aa hacked into the video feed to forewarn a new attack;[85] after CivGeneral became depressed by comments that he had no humour, his mother took him to task, criticizing his perfectionism and wilful blindness to his own accomplishments. Continuing training with Ayane, he mastered a spirit energy attack he dubbed "Panzerfaust". [86]

Mariko's Coup

While being briefed about Pul Wat Aa's retreat to Wetickra, CivGeneral received word of an Umbrella attack on New Port.[87] Arriving later in the evening, he encountered a solitary Wesker and proceeded to put the Panzerfaust into practice, sending him flying across town.[88] By the time he caught up with Mara's command unit, the insurgents had breached the Citadel and were preparing to evacuate with captured Star Destroyers. CivGeneral and Ayane arrived just as Mariko Antilles turned on Mara; Mariko revealed herself to be CivGeneral's clone and tried to kill him, but was stopped by Ayane. The command unit fled, and a critically-wounded Mara was taken into Coruscanti custody.[89]

Wetickra campaign

Three days after the battle, the Coruscanti fleet arrived in the Wetickra system.[90] As part of the vanguard force, CivGeneral participated in skirmishes with Imperial patrols[91] and an ambush against an AT-AT platoon.[92] Allied forces were soon within range of the Hacker's base; teaming up with Stylesrj's team and choxorn's zombies, CG organized a multi-pronged attack to overwhelm the defenders.[93] Leading the STARS team, he battled remnant Space Pirate forces[94] and encountered Doctor Aran after she quit the Blood Gulch Mercenaries over friction with Delia Steel, its Board-appointed director.[95] Reaching the upper levels, the group encountered Weeping Angels, but managed to thwart them.[96]

The team regrouped with Stylesrj's squad,[97][98] and after battling through the last line of defence,[99] stormed the Hacker's office and swiftly overpowered him. Before they could finish him off, Mariko arrived; CG split up the party to pursue various objectives while he and Ayane fought Mariko.[100] Drawing the fight out of the main room, they engaged in a lightsaber duel in which Mariko held both of them at bay.[101] When Pul Wat Aa cloned himself, Ayane battled the double, leaving CG to face Mariko alone; she ultimately overpowered him and nearly cut him down,[102] but was routed by the arrival of STARS Beta.[103]

Xen

Reconvening in the office, CivGeneral and Co. weathered Pul Wat Aa's last stand, overpowering him and casting him into a two-dimensional prison.[104][105] Only a moment later, another figure emerged and swiftly neutralized the group; he revealed himself to be the true Pul Wat Aa, all previous appearances being similar android clones. Goading CivGeneral to catch him, he escaped into the Xen borderworld; CG gave pursuit but the portal closed before Ayane could follow,[106] however Zheng He was already in the system and brought the full force of the Ming treasure fleet to CG's aid.[107][108]

Fighting off Xenbeasts, the pair accosted Aa further afield.[109] Boasting that he had mastered control of biology itself, he drew them into increasingly-elaborate ambushes, escalating from Xenbeasts to actual soldiers. While He kept them occupied, CG gave pursuit; cornering the Hacker in a cave, he was instead swiftly and effortlessly overpowered.[110] Mercilessly taunting CG, Aa revealed Hackergeddon was a smokescreen to steal the Galaxy's processing power into a massive computer matrix with which he could wield God-like influence over reality. He questioned CivGeneral's motives, suggesting he coveted the Hacker's power as a means of rewriting his own troubled history. However, the Hacker's network was secretly being undermined, and as his power faltered CG was able to regain control and resume the fight.[111] Aa's powers steadily eroded and the fight ended with both men beaten and bloodied, but with CG ultimately on top when the Ming expedition arrived. Defiant to the end, Aa challenged his impending execution as borne of a personal vendetta and devoid of true justice; CivGeneral shot him before He could intervene.[112] As He's men cleaned up the scene, Ayane and Hanna arrived via portal and brought CG to their staging ground at Nar Kreeta for treatment.[113]

Marriage to Ayane and early mission against the Galactic Empire

During preparations for his wedding to Ayane, CivGeneral was confronted by his mother over his string of broken relationships. He confessed to being insecure around women, but promised not to jump ship on Ayane.[114] Upon return to Earth, he was inducted into the Republic Rangers as chief officer.[115] Following the wedding later that day, CivGeneral received the Republic Medal of Honor for his service in Hackergeddon.[116] Nine months later, Nozomi was born.[117]

Some time later, Ayane and CivGeneral conducted a raid on Xesis Prime to recover plans to the Death Star before Imperial technicians decrypted them. Encountering Dr. Richtofen in the base, CG proceeded to viciously assault him, although stopped short of killing him. In addition to hard copies of the blueprints, they recovered an exotic combat robot that was retooled as a protocol droid for his mother.[118]
