Listen to me, Jedi. I do not care about your politics. I do not care about your Republic. I only live to see you die!

Grievous

Grievous, commonly known by his title of General Grievous, is a villain from the Star Wars series, first appearing in the animated Clone Wars series by Genndy Tartakovsky, but most prominently featuring in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith in 2005. He was the cyborg commander of the Separatist army, and a notorious foe of the Jedi.

History

Outside DYOS

Once a proud warrior of Kalee named Qymaen jai Sheelal, Grievous' life-long hatred of the Jedi was kindled when the Jedi and the Galactic Republic betrayed his people to an invading race called the Huk. After a shuttle accident that left him badly maimed, he was taken in by the Intergalactic Banking Clan and, subsequently, the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and rebuilt into a formidable cybernetic weapon for the Separatists. His keen military mind, martial prowess, and overwhelming hatred for the Jedi and all that they represented, made him the most feared and successful of all the Confederacy's commanders during the brutal Clone Wars. His successful record came to an abrupt end on the planet of Utapau in the dying days of the war, when the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi at last succeeded in defeating the great general in battle.

In DYOS

Grievous was a fool who couldn't see beyond his own face.[3]

Grievous has appeared on numerous occasions in DRAW Your Own Story, each time with seemingly a different allegiance. Initially one of CurtSibling's lieutenants in DYOS IV, by DYOS VIII he had come under the employ of the Republic of Coruscant. He later turned gun for hire, and re-emerged as an agent of the Combine Empire after the fall of the New Avatar Order.[4] His great personal animosity for CivGeneral informed many of his actions during the Combine-Coruscant War, in which he was an active participant. Grievous encountered CivGeneral numerous times, but failed to ever best him in personal combat. Grievous' main task, however, was the manhunt for Mr. Toyoda. While Grievous succeeded in abducting him, he was unable to extract the whereabouts of Thunderfall's soul out of Toyoda before the heroes intervened. Surprisingly, Grievous was overpowered in a lightsaber duel with Toyoda, and chose to commit suicide by gunshot shortly thereafter rather than suffer the indignity of defeat.[5]

Soon afterwards, he was retrieved from Hell and returned to the land of the living by mythmonster2, and agreed to become the general of Apolyton's armies. Disobeying mythmonster2's orders to go to Arrakis, he seemed to be on the cusp of rebellion against his new lord, but has since disappeared.[6]
