Resident Evil, known as Biohazard (バイオハザード, Baiohazādo) in Japan, is a survival horror video game that has spawned numerous sequels, spin-offs, and animated movies. It also inspired six live-action films, although these bear only a cursory relation to the games' storyline. Developed by Capcom and created by Shinji Mikami, the series has sold almost 61 million games as of 2015. First released in 1996 on PlayStation, it was later ported to the PC and Sega Saturn.

In DYOS

Within the DRAW Your Own Story series, Resident Evil 3 marks the divergence point in which RE4 and 5 did not happen, though the games are referenced occasionally within DYOS, with Albert Wesker's involvement in DYOS 11 paralleling large segments of RE5. The Umbrella Corporation serves as a primary antagonist midway through DYOS 11, and Tricell Pharmaceutical is referenced in backstory, although little attention is paid to either company's history. The timeline has been moved slightly forward to let CG date avoid age conflicts with the main characters.

The films are completely ignored.
