Christmas
I can't believe anybody would celebrate a holiday where a jolly prowler breaks into your house and leaves gifts.
Christmas is a holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. It is usually celebrated December 25, but can begin as early as August if department stores are to be believed. It incorporates many pre-Christian and secular themes, such as Yule logs, decorative trees, and widespread exhaustion of fiscal credit.
The traditional Christmas dinner consists of turkey and fruitcake washed down with egg nog. The religious seek refuge in the temple, for at night, packs of carollers prowl the streets, subjecting unsuspecting house-dwellers to oft-repeated melodies. Virtually every programme on television has a seasonal twist, and houses are dressed up to resemble giant desserts. On Christmas Eve, children make offerings to Santa Claus, the god of winter, in the hope of receiving material merchandise that bears uncanny resemblance to what was sold out in the toy stores three weeks ago.
In December, CFC forumers frequently modify their avatars with holiday decorations, and the site's default skin is temporarily replaced with a winterized theme complete with falling snowflakes and Santa hats on emoticons. Christmas sees more special issues of DRAW Your Own Story than any other calendar event, often leading to a general suspension of the plot from Christmas Eve to New Year's Eve.
