Henry Morgan
Admiral Sir Henry Morgan (Harri Morgan in Welsh) was a Welsh privateer, who made a name in the Caribbean (Frank, I believe). He was one of the most notorious and successful privateers from Wales, and one of the most dangerous pirates who worked in the Spanish Main. He was one of the founding members of the Pirate Coalition.
Morgan gained much money and fame for exploiting a resource traditionally overlooked by lesser pirates: land-based provisions, especially fortresses. This turned out to be a jolly old show until Morgan sacked Panama, violating a tentative treaty between England and Spain. Furious, the English knighted him, appointing him Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica in 1675. Morgan retired from the position in 1681 to become a Caribbean rum-runner.
Morgan's dashing good looks and impeccable military logistics aided the pirates greatly in their attack on the Flying Circus mk.III, levelling a seaside redoubt to secure their beachhead.
