John Corcoran
John Corcoran is an Australian lawyer who served as President of the Law Council of Australia in 2009.
John is a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in Business Law and is a past President of the Law Institute.
He has handled all aspects of commercial property work for over 20 years for major developers, banks and government. He specialises in the area of retirement villages and aged care. He has a national practice and acts as the honorary solicitor for the Retirement Villages Association of Australia. Many of his clients are Australia’s major providers of aged care and retirement villages. John often represents major peak industry bodies in their dealings with industry members and government.
With the Stylesrj issue still unresolved, Corcoran appointed outgoing president Ross Ray chief organizer of the ongoing retrial, promising to provide him everything he needs to make the final trial work. Notably, by pulling strings with the Australian government, he provided Ray with unique subpoenas that granted him the discretionary power to apprehend Stylesrj with unlimited force.[1]
