God is a Yankee.
—An anonymous Mexican officer following his nation's defeat in the Mexican-American War.
The United Mexican States, more commonly known as Mexico, is a country in Central America North America the Americas, south of the United States, north of El Salvador and Guatemala, and west of Belize. Once a Spanish colony, it achieved independence early in the 19th Century and has regretted almost everything else that has happened ever since. Traditionally a punching bag for those so-and-so's north of the border, Mexico is truthfully just proud of itself for doing its best.
In DYOS
Mexico has made numerous incidental appearances over the course of DYOS. One of the former capitals of the Taillenian Empire, New Taillenium, was located somewhere in Mexico prior to that regime's collapse. Taillesskangaru would later pass through the country again during the quest for the Gem. During the Third Nazi War, Mexico joined forces with the democratic forces of the Free Western Army. While the circumstances surrounding this have always been somewhat of a mystery, it can only be assumed that Mexico, as during the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s when it aided the Republican cause, took ol' Winston Churchy's word to heart, and played the part of "the New World, with all its power and might, [stepping] forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."
Mexican soil hosted the base of operations for Operation High Noon, and was instrumental in the subsequent defeat of the Enclave in the south-western former United States. Mexico's armed forces operate separately from the main FWA forces and are largely armed and supplied with surplus taken during the Second Napoleonic War.
