Rosalind Can't, nicknamed Rosie and RC and known on CivFanatics by her former handle Robert Can't,[a] was a prominent figure in the Imperium Offtopicum "middle guard" who earned lasting acclaim for The Spirit of Man (based on Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds), her first game, and Imperium Offtopicum XIV, which kickstarted a revival of story-based games in the mid-2010s. Rosie's participation steadily declined toward decade's end, effectively quitting CFC in early 2021. A close friend of JohannaK, they were IOT Chat's original power couple and iconic for their greeting ritual of "BOOM!"/"Explosion!".
Rosie was a non-contributing audience member seen early in DRAW Your Own Story 11. In 2014, inspired by Thorvald of Lym's short story "IOT: Repercussions of Powergame", she uploaded a tentative comic drawn in chalk to DeviantArt.[1] The comic reinterpreted the text as a bid by scientists of the "Institute of Orbital Testing" to save a genius colleague[b] from imminent death by transferring his consciousness to one Norman Hadley[c] through a project codenamed "Epilogue". It was never officially posted to DYOS, and was later deleted from her gallery.
Rosie participated in the second Write Your Own Story revival; her plot focused on a young man named James of an otherwise-peaceful wasteland town who has been conditioned as a servant to his abusive sisters.[2]

- ↑ an expy of Thorvald
- ↑ A running gag in IOT held that Thorvald was someone Rosie knew in real life.
