LARS II unlimbered

The Raketenwerfer 110 SF2 (German: Rocket launcher 110 SF2) was a multiple rocket launcher designed in West Germany and introduced into the army in 1969. It was the second design in the Light Artillery Rocket System (LARS), that was phased out by 1998 in favour of the M270 MLRS.

The SF2 or LARS II features two sets of 18 110mm rocket tubes installed at the rear of a 7t MAN 6x6 truck. Designed for concentrated rapid fire on a single target, the system can fire a full salvo of 36 rockets in 18 seconds at a range of 6-14 km. Rockets can be equipped with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, smoke screen, or cargo payload capable of dispersing eight anti-tank mines over an area. The vehicle is crewed by a driver, operator, and commander.
