Bananas in Pyjamas is an Australian children's television show starring two nightware-clad bananas who, as explained by the opening song, in a time-honoured tradition chase teddy bears every Tuesday. The titular characters B1 and B2 are friends and neighbours with three teddy bears named Lulu, Amy and Morgan, and Rat in a Hat, the owner of a wholesale supply store. The characters were inspired by the eponymous 1967 song by Carey Blyton, itself inspired by the 1932 Jimmy Kennedy lyrics to "Teddy Bears' Picnic". It was filmed live-action in elaborate costumes. Honestly, if this isn't reason enough to take up the didgeridoo and pledge eternal faith to Paul Hogan, you have no soul.

The show originally ran from 1992 to syndication in 2002, and débuted in the United States in 1995. Plans are currently underway to screen a new series in full CGI, like every other British kids' programme from the 90's.
